Observers of Western society in its moods and changes tell us that a generation ago the big question people wanted the answer to was: What is true? Today they tell us, the question that matters most is: What is real?

Who knows what people may be asking as we move into the 21st century?

In different ways both of these questions are important and both are addressed in this booklet. What adds to their importance in this instance is that these questions are asked of a person who, more than any other single individual, has influenced the world in the West as we know it today.
